Sir! Long-running U.S. men’s magazine issued by Volitant Publishing Corporation in New York. It began in the mid-1940s and continued into the early 1970s. Early issues focused on adventure stories, true crime, sports and cheesecake pin-ups. By the 1960s the photography grew more explicit, with full nude pictorials and centerfolds alongside fiction, sex surveys and features on contemporary culture. It remained a newsstand men’s title rather than a pure adult-bookstore magazine.
